Facebook Live Captures the Horrific Moment a Violent Shooting Broke Out on Myrtle Beach
A shooting at Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, on Saturday night was captured by a witness on a balcony and posted to Facebook. Seven people were injured during the gunfire, which began during a crowd fight, reported WYFF4.
According to Myrtle Beach police Lt. Joey Crosby a large crowd was gathered on Ocean Boulevard. At some point, a fight broke out between two people, and one of them pulled out a handgun and shot the other person.
After the shots were fired, an on-duty security guard who witnessed the incident shot the suspect, who carjacked a vehicle and attempted to flee. Police later found the car and the suspect, who was detained.
Seven people, including the suspect, were taken to a local hospital and treated for their injuries. None of the injuries were life-threatening, according to Crosby.
The security guard suffered a superficial leg wound and was treated at the scene.
According to Crosby, the detained suspect — whose identity remains unknown — will be served with an arrest warrant once he is "medically cleared."Police plan to use the Facebook Live Video as a piece of evidence
