Cardi B Trolls Conservatives With Video Of Trump Supporters Blasting ‘WAP’ At Boat Party

She also points out that none of the partygoers were social distancing.

When Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion unleashed their collab single “WAP,” and its accompanying music video, the song was met with plenty of criticism from conservative pundits and politicians, who derided it for it’s sexually suggestive lyrics.

  • But despite their public outrage, it appears that, privately, many conservatives are turning up to “WAP” just like the rest of us.

Earlier this week, a video clip surfaced online of young Donald Trump supporters blasting “WAP” while partying on a boat. In the clip, various party goers can be seen proudly waving Trump 2020 flags endorsing his presidential campaign while donning MAGA merchandise as “WAP” blasts in the background.

  • Resharing the clip via Twitter, the Bronx rapper seemed just as confused as her fans, saying, “Wasn’t republican conservative[s] throwing a little fit ‘bout this song?”

“Anyways this makes my a*** itchy,”Cardi continued.

She added that she’s “callin’ the FBI on this festivity,” pointing out that not a single person shown in the video appears to be socially distancing despite the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

  • Cardi B, by contrast, recently revealed to i-D magazine that she spent over $100,000 on COVID-19 testing while filming the music video for “WAP.”

In that same interview, the Grammy-winning rapper shared her thoughts on the discourse that has ensued of the song, telling i-D, “I knew it was gonna have a big impact, I guess, because of me and Megan. But I didn’t know it was going to be so controversial. I never expected that. You know, conservatives and Republicans were going to be talking about the song. I didn’t think the song was as vulgar as they said it was, you know?”

  • Nonetheless, as Cardi noted, “they keep talking and the numbers keep going up” because “WAP” debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart this week while setting a new record for the most streamed song in its first week of release.

This marks the rapper’s fourth chart-topping track and Megan, who just notched her first Hot 100 No. 1 with her Beyoncé-assisted “Savage Remix” in May, has now logged her second milestone.
