Avid Twitter users may recall the intense 148-tweet thread posted by Aziah "Zola" Wells, detailing her eventful trip to Tampa, Florida, with a fellow stripper. Initially posted back in 2015, the story quickly became the talk of the social network for days. 

In fact the story, it managed to gain such major traction that it is currently being developed into a film for the big screen and its leading lady has already been found in former Hit the Floor star Taylour Paige.

Nope — your eyes aren't deceiving you.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Twitter saga is being adapted into a film simply titled Zola with Paige at the helm, playing the title character.

Janicza Bravo, known for directing episodes of Atlanta and Dear White People, has reportedly signed on to direct the social media sparked film. She now replaces James Franco, who was set to originally sit in the director's chair back in 2016. Zola will also be produced by A24.

Speaking on the grueling casting process, Bravo explained that she and the studio conducted a nationwide search for the right actress to fill the role of Zola. She claimed that it wasn't until Paige auditioned that she believed she found the right talent.

"I'm at a coffee shop in L.A. and in walks this girl," she said. "I'm entranced and can't stop staring. It's the way she sits in her body. It's agency. It's self-possession... everything that drew me to telling this story. One year later, she auditions, and I knew instantly — like, I knew it then: After seeing 700 girls, the one meant to be finally walked in."

Zola does not yet have a solid release date.
