More bad news for the night club where the infamous brawl between supporters of Drake and Chris Brown went down earlier this month: In an emergency meeting Tuesday, members of the New York State Liquor Authority voted to suspend the liquor license of the club — W.i.P in SoHo — and its adjacent bar, Greenhouse. W.i.P had only recently reopened after being temporarily shut down in the wake of the fight due to code violations.
In the emergency meeting, State Liquor Authority Chairman Dennis Rosen threw the book at W.i.P.
“The SLA will not tolerate violent bars that break the law,” he said, as reported by the Associated Press.
The owners of the club filed a suit against the city last week to protest attempts to shut it down. They say they were following an NYPD-approved security plan when the melee broke out.
The City of New York isn't the only adversary W.i.P. is contending with. Last week, NBA star Tony Parker sued the club for $20 million over a scratched cornea he suffered after being hit with flying glass in the June 14 brawl.
