Jamaican reggae star Mavado is the latest addition to DJ Khaled's We the Best Music Group. The two artists made a special appearance on New York’s Hot 97's radio station to make the announcement on the Angie Martinez Show.

"New York City, Mavado is officially signed to We the Best Music Group. Mavado is a part of the family," Khaled said on a call to the station. "Mavado already does great music, and I'm just gonna add some stamina to it, feed the streets, put some hits out."
Khaled said the VP Records alum, who made a cameo in the video for Drake's "Find Your Love" video, was a natural fit for We the Best because of his authenticity.
"Mavado, he represents the streets, man, and I love it. He's 100 percent authentic."
Mavado, for his part, was psyched to be the newest member of Khaled's crew.
"I'm so overwhelmed," he said at one point.
