Katherine Jackson's Chef Threatens Sexual Harassment Suit Against Nephew
Another scandal hits the Jackson estate as Michael Jackson's former chef claims while she was cooking for the family, Katherine Jackson's nephew sexually harassed her.
According to TMZ, Kai Chase, who was in the King of Pop's home on the day of his death, took a cooking job with Katherine Jackson in 2012 for $96,000 a year. Her lawsuit claims, Trent Jackson, Katherine's nephew, would approach her from behind making grunting noises and whispering sexual remarks in her ear. Chase stated that he would also stare at her in a sexual manner and sit in front of her in the kitchen with his legs spread in a sexually suggestive way.
As the alleged harassment worsened, Chase sent a demand letter to Katherine last month for money and claims that she reported the incident to her. While she said that MJ's mother initially apologized for her nephew's behavior, she eventually trivialized the situation, asking her to "just tolerate" Trent.
In the letter, Chase claims that she was fired shortly after reporting her complaint, with the reason being that she "did not appear happy." Chase's attorney is now demanding that Katherine pay his client or face-off in court.
Katherine's attorney, Perry Sanders, released a statement, which read, "Mrs. Jackson adamantly denies that she was advised of any sort of sexual harassment before Ms. Chase was relieved of her duties. Sometimes people are discharged for one reason and wrongly think it is for a different reason. At any rate, a full investigation is underway and I suspect we have a misunderstanding that hopefully gets cleared up soon."
