Shaquille O’Neal Reveals Why He Wanted to Lose Weight and Get Fit

“I wanted to become PHAT: pretty, hot, and tempting,” said the Hall of Famer.

Recently, Shaquille O’Neal has leveled up his health by losing 55 lbs, and now he has a figure he is eager to flaunt.

In an interview with Us Weekly on Monday (September 18), the famed Los Angeles Laker told the outlet what motivated him to get in shape. “I wanted to become PHAT: pretty, hot and tempting,” he said. He also added that walking up a flight of stairs had become challenging.

To achieve his fitness goals, the former athlete incorporated vitamins and physical training to jump start his health journey.

“I just had to change the way I ate. I started taking my supplements, GF-9 and just a lot of exercise and working out and it’s great.”

Following his results, O’Neal is pumped about showing off his lean physique in Sin City. “So now, when I go back to the FantasyLabs, I can take my shirt off and I could be sexy while I’m in Vegas,” he said.

Not only does he have his sights set on the Gambling Capital of the World, but he also looks forward to gracing social media shirtless.

“I want to be able to take my shirt off on Instagram more than last time … I got a four-pack, but I want a 12-pack.”

Now at 350 lbs and dozens of pounds lighter, he admits losing weight is hard. His goal is to tip the scale at 325.

“I was the world’s greatest athlete. It was easy, but now, you wake up and you got so much to do,” he noted. “My excuse is, ‘I’ll do it later,’ but when I was playing, you had to do it then. So, I just had to restart my mindset. Now when I wake up, I eat fruit, I don’t eat a meal, and then, in order for me to get a meal, I got to go work out.”
