The gloves are off between Ciara and Future.  Days after the singer filed a $15 million lawsuit against her rapper ex for bashing her in the media over their custody arrangements for their son, Future Jr., someone leaked some e-mails between Ciara's lawyer and Future's lawyer to the Daily Mail.
Among other things, the correspondence accuses Future of being a negligent parent — CiCi alleges that he comes home from his house with his clothes smelling like marijuana and pee — and Future's attorney saying Ciara is "deliberately escalating" the situation with the lawsuit.
The e-mails reveals that Ciara filed her lawsuit on January 7, just three days after Future unleashed a barrage of nasty tweets aimed at his ex, accusing her of being uncooperative about custody and calling her a "b***h." Ciara's lawyer immediately served the rapper with a cease-and-desist order and asked him to issue a statement retracting the comments, reading, "I regret the comments that I made in reference to Ciara via Twitter on January 4, 2016. My statements were misleading. I apologize for using offensive language, and I also apologize for any inconvenience or ill will this may have caused."
Obviously, that didn't happen. So Ciara went on the attack. "It sounds like maybe you are of the opinion that it is okay to air parenting frustration on a social media forum," reads an email from Ciara's lawyer dated January 7. "Ms. Harris has been equally as frustrated but she has not posted anything negative about Mr. Wilburn to her six million Twitter followers about how he refuses to agree to mutual random drug tests. She hasn't posted anything negative about Mr. Wilburn to her 9.8 million Instagram followers about how he asks for parenting time when he is booked to perform out of state or out of the country. In fact, she has asked to keep these matters private for the sake of the minor child [Future Jr.], and Mr. Wilburn has refused."
The lawyer continued, "It is not in the child's best interests, no matter how frustrated his famous parents are or how you spin it, for parents to post negative comments about each other on social media. Calling Ms. Harris a 'b***h' on Twitter was so insulting and disrespectful."
The letter goes on to dispute Future's claims that he has to go through lawyers to see his son, stating that lawyers were only asked to intervene when the rapper used foul language with Ciara. It also states Future does not, by any measure, pay Ciara $15,000 a month in child support, as his tweets claim.
