Premiere: Keshia Chanté Returns to Her First Love with 'The Valley'
Keshia Chanté is taking her career back to where it all began.
The former co-host of BET’s 106 & Park is stepping back to the mic, and this time it’s all about the music. The 28-year-old Canadian songstress and Juno Award winner has returned with her new single, “The Valley.” Produced by Stephen Rezza, the track finds Keshia Chanté employing her sensual vocals to plead for a love unreturned. Relatable to many who’ve been there, the singer notes that “The Valley” is a snapshot of early adulthood.
“Love, heartbreak, dysfunction, my 20s are about self discovery. My sound is where angst and honesty meet,” she says.
Keshia Chanté has previously garnered Top 10 radio success in Canada, as well as rounded up awards and acclaim. She originally hit the music scene at the age of 15, and has since rounded out her career to also include a successful two-year television stint. She now says the sum of her experiences has heightened her overall craft.
"I may have been a singer for many years, but today I am an artist."
Chanté’s upcoming release is expected in 2017 and features collaborations with singer/songwriter Tayla Parx (Alicia Keys, Firth Harmony) producer Boi-1Da (Drake, Rihanna) and a host of others.
