Jesse Williams And His Ex-Wife Aryn Drake-Lee Settle Child Custody Dispute

The former couple has had “high conflict” when it comes to their two children.

Jesse Williams and his estranged ex-wife have reached an agreement in court regarding the custody of their children.

Williams and Aryn Drake-Lee have been divorced since October 2020. However, the fate of their shared legal custody of their daughter Sadie, 8, and son Maceo, 6, was determined in a Los Angeles County Superior courtroom on Wednesday, PEOPLE reported.

A judge has denied Williams, who is slated to star in a Broadway production of “Take Me Outon April 4, of modifying his existing residential schedule commonly referred to as a 2-2-5-5 plan: an agreement where a child spends 2 days with one parent, then 2 days with the other parent, and is followed up with 5 days with the first parent, and 5 day with the other parent.

PEOPLE reported it was Williams' schedule as an actor that created a lot of situations where Drake-Lee had "a lot of juggling" and was the one "who is the one mainly reorganizing her schedule," according to court documents.

"Given [Williams] profession as an actor, it does not seem that this schedule is necessarily going to become more predictable in the future," the documents stated, PEOPLE reported. "Neither does it seem to be in the best interest of the children for their time with their father to be cut back dramatically as a result of his varying schedule so as to only visit him during predictable timeslots. This situation results in an understandably frustrating experience for both sides."

"It appears his schedule will remain unpredictable after the play is concluded in New York," the document continued. "It may be appropriate in the future if the facts show that this schedule could be regularly exercised."

The 40-year-old actor departed from his fame role on “Grey’s Anatomy” after 12 seasons in May 2021, The New York Post reported.

The Post also reported that the pair was ordered in April 2021 to attend “high-conflict” parenting classes due to their arguments.

The couple first filed for divorce back in 2017.
