Shaq's Newest Biggie-Inspired Artwork Showing The Rapper Shooting Himself In The Head Set His Comments Off
Shaquille O'Neal recently shared a new piece of Biggie Smalls-inspired artwork he was gifted, and the image appeared to have extremely mixed reviews.
The art, painted by Philadelphia-based artist Justin Wadlington, features an all-black image of Biggie holding a golden gun to his head with a colorful paint splatter coming from the back of his head.
Some people who saw the image found it to be disturbing and in poor taste, considering Biggie was killed by a bullet.
"Why TF is there a gun pointed at Biggies head. Nah... @shaq this is no," said one Instagram user.
"Don’t like it...the fact biggie was killed by a gun and the picture shows him getting shot in the head with a gun...not feeling it at all," commented another user.
However, the negatives reviews of the painting were soon met by a lesson in Biggie's record history.
"This painting pays homage to Biggies 'Suicidal Thoughts.' Y’all lackin. Uncultured," wrote one Instagram user in response.
"Suicidal Thoughts" was a popular song off Biggie's 1994 album, Ready to Die. Although the image portrays a graphic display, many believed it beautifully captured the lyrics of the song.
"One of the Dopest pics I have ever seen of B.I.G.... I like the colorful expressions... it reminds me that we lost more than a person but a artistic genius. Well done!!" said one Instagram user.
