DMX Explains Why He Fired Former Management Team
DMX and his new management team have just released a statement to clear up any confusions about who's been running the show since the rapper finished a prison sentence this past summer.
“I fired my old management team the day I got out of prison," DMX said in a statement to RapFix. "My money and career have been sabotaged for long enough. Makin’ music and performing for my fans, that’s what I’m doin’ now. The Dog is back and I’ve cut these thieves out of my life.”
DMX's new representation also issued a warning against booking the artist through illegitimate sources. “We’re hearing reports of people making deposits for shows, only to find out that it was a fraud,” said Jason Fowler of J-Mike Management & Entertainment. “All bookings must be through his new management team, because DMX is not responsible for any transactions that are not through J-Mike Management & Entertainment.”
Since his release from prison, DMX has been working on his comeback. Last week, he premiered the video for his single "Last Hope" on BET's 106 & Park, made a surprise appearance at the BET Hip Hop Awards, and is expecting to release his seventh studio album this winter.
