Willow Smith Still Bold on New Single "21st Century Girl"

The littlest hit factory, Willow Smith is back today with a new soon-to-be-smash single called "21st Century Girl." The track is a very of-the-moment electronic dance-floor anthem that retains the youthful but extraordinarily self-confident themes of her first hit, "Whip My Hair."

"I set the boundaries, the rules don't own me / I'm living life on the edge, I choose my path," Smith sings.

In what seems to be the mold for Willow, the song aims to position her as the face of a new generation of kids and pop stars, but also hews closely to established pop paradigms. Whereas "Whip My Hair" could have been torn straight from a Beyoncé album, "21st Century" at times evokes white-hot chart queens KE$HA and Katy Perry.

"I'm the type of girl that likes to rock the beat," goes one sly refrain.

Hear "21st Century Girl" for yourself above. The song will make its debut on national television during a performance tomorrow on Oprah. A release date for Willow's still-untitled debut album, to be released by Jay-Z's Roc Nation, has yet to be announced.
