In his first public appearance in the New York City area since last week’s bloody club brawl with Chris Brown, Drake hinted at the wild throw-down during a show on Long Island’s Jones Beach on Saturday [June 16].

The Young Money rapper, who is currently at the center of an NYPD investigation into the bottle-throwing clash that left eight people injured, was amped up when he took the stage in front of a frenzied audience. He was also very aware of his surroundings and the fall-out from the brawl between members of his entourage and Brown’s crew.

“When I woke up this morning, I had to think about a lot of things,” Drake told the crowd as reported by the New York Daily News. “But the only thing I gave a f--- about was that I was in New York City tonight.”

With the authorities still hoping to interview Drake and the members of his crew that were in attendance at Club W.I.P. on Wednesday night, Drizzy gave his fans an idea of what transpired that night.

“It’s last call and you’re really too drunk to give a f---,” said Drake.  “A n---- in the corner is standing there looking at you funny. You bump elbows with him on the way to the bathroom, but really there’s only one n----that you got to think about.”

That’s all anyone is going to get from the Canadian rapper-singer on the matter at the moment. Drake’s reps have told the police he was not in the club when the melee began and they must wait until his lawyer is in town before they can interview the star. According to TMZ, members of the “Fancy” rapper’s camp have said they will not cooperate with cops.

Despite being stonewalled by some, at least one powerful person in Drake’s corner is speaking up on the matter. MTV News spoke with YMCMB boss Birdman, who unequivocally defended Drizzy.

“To me, Drizzy ain’t did nothin’ wrong,” said Birdman. “He ain’t done nothing wrong to nobody. He just doin’ great music. He’s not a reckless guy out there just wildin’ out; he’s a humble kid makin’ great music.”

In fact, Stunna thinks the chart-topping hitmaker has been the victim of unwarranted hate from other artists.

“Well, to me, I think n---- got Drake twisted,” said the Cash Money CEO. “A lot of n---- be playing’ pitty-pattin’ with Drake. I don’t like that s---, period. Drake is one of us, so if you f--- with Drake, you f--- with us period.”

As one of Drake’s music bosses, Birdman may have to live up to that all-for-one mantra, as several innocent bystanders injured in the fracas are contemplating lawsuits against Drake and Chris Brown.
