Megan Thee Stallion Posts Emotional Birthday Message To Her Late Mother

Holly Thomas passed away from brain cancer in March 2019.

Last week was momentous for Megan Thee Stallion, who premiered her “Savage Remix” featuring Beyoncé to a rapturous reception.

  • In the midst of that, the Houston rapper took a moment this weekend to commemorate her late mother and former manager, Holly Thomas, on what would’ve been her birthday on Saturday (May 2.) Thomas unfortunately passed away after a battle with brain cancer in March 2019.

  • Taking to Instagram, Megan posted a throwback photo of her mother holding her as a baby.

“Happy birthday mama. I miss you everyday!” the 25-year-old penned along with the three golden heart emojis.

She continued, “I know you’re watching over me rooting for me and keeping me going. I don’t have you physically here telling me what I should do so I’ve been trying to figure it out on my own remembering all the advice and lessons you’ve taught me before. You are such a strong woman and I promise to make you proud and be one too!”

  • Beyoncé reposted the photo on her website with a simple but sweet caption. “Honoring Holly.”

  • Megan has credited her mother as the inspiration behind her interest and pursuit of a career in rap music. In a recent interview with People, the “Hot Girl Summer” rapper shared that she intends to honor her mother’s legacy by obtaining her bachelors degree in health administration. She has been taking courses online in addition to managing her music career.

“I want to get my degree because I really want my mom to be proud. She saw me going to school before she passed,” she told the magazine.“I literally watched my mom and my grandmother get up and go to work every single day. My big mama owned three houses in South Park [Houston]. She was going hard, working to provide for our family, so I’ve always seen her drive.”
