Kim Kardashian Passes California ‘Baby Bar’ Exam
Kim Kardashian has finally passed the California “Baby Bar” exam.
The entrepreneur and reality tv star shared on her Instagram page that after two years of studying and three attempts at taking the First-Year Law Student’s Examination, she has officially passed.
In a long post, Kardashian was transparent about her two-year journey, sharing that during her third attempt at the exam she had COVID-19 with a 104 degree fever.
“In California, the way I'm studying law you need to take 2 bar exams, this was just the first one but with the harder pass rate,” she added. “I was told by top lawyers that this was a close to impossible journey and harder than the traditional law school route but it was my only option and it feels so so sooooo good to be here and on my way to achieving my goals.”
The 41-year-old, who did not complete college, shared that she was interested in pursuing a law degree back in 2019, with plans to take the bar exam in 2022.
The “Baby Bar” is an alternative path to passing the bar known as “reading the law,” or becoming an apprentice with a practicing lawyer or judge is offered in four states, including California.
Kardashian worked with Van Jones’ nonprofit, Dream Corps, and also was involved in the case of Alice Marie Johnson, a grandmother who was serving a life sentence in an Alabama prison for a nonviolent drug conviction. Former President Donald Trump granted her clemency in 2018.
“I know my dad would be so proud and he would actually be so shocked to know that this is my path now but he would have been my best study partner,” Kardashian continued in her post. “I am told he was notorious for making fun of people who didn't pass on their first attempt like he did, but he would have been my biggest cheerleader!”
Kardashian’s father, Robert Kardashian, was a prominent Los Angeles lawyer and was part of the legal team representing O.J. Simpson in his 1995 trial of the killings of his former wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend Ronald Goldman. Simpson was ultimately acquitted.
It’s unclear what is next for Kim K on her journey to law, but rest and recovery are surely on the list before her next steps.
