Ice-T Sends Message Amid Scarface’s Coronavirus Diagnosis
In an unfortunate development, the hip-hop community has been impacted by the coronavirus pandemic by way of two infections.
Houston rap star Slim Thug came forward with the news that he’d tested positive for the coronavirus, although his health has since recovered. A few days later, fellow Houston rap icon Scarface was the latest to add his name to the growing list of celebrities that have contracted the highly-contagious virus. Scarface appeared on a livestream with his fellow Geto Boys member Willie D where he disclosed the diagnosis on Thursday (March 26) and urged everyone to take the coronavirus seriously.
After learning of Scarface’s harrowing experience, West Coast icon Ice-T took to Twitter later that night to send him uplifting words of support.
“Just talked to my close homie Scarface @brothermob of the Geto Boys,” he shared with his followers. “He’s positive with the Virus. He’s doing well but has been through hell.. God Bless him. Get well my brother!” He also posted a photo of Scarface along with the caption.
Fortunately, Scarface said that his health has taken an upturn for the better and he’s making a slow recovery. But for Ice-T, the news comes after the Law & Order: SVU star learned of the passing of another close colleague. Josh Wallwork, a costume designer or the drama series, recently passed away from coronavirus-related complications. “I worked with Josh every day,” Ice-T said in response. “MAN! Pay attention people.”
In spite of his back-to-back losses, Ice-T assured everyone that he’s doing fine. “A lotta friends calling just to check in on me and my family’s health and well-being… As homies should.. We’re all good over here. Love and Respect,” he tweeted on Friday (March 27).
