Soulja Boy Responds To J. Cole Explaining Why He Didn’t Initially Understand The ‘Crank Dat’ Rapper’s Music

The North Carolina native recently sat down with Lil Yachty’s ‘A Safe Place Podcast.’

Soulja Boy is speaking out after his music was a topic of discussion on a recent episode of Lil Yachty’s A Safe Place podcast.

Sitting down with the Atlanta rapper and pod host, guest J. Cole noted that he initially didn’t understand the “Crank Dat” artist’s musical style.

“Around the time Soulja Boy came out, I don’t know how this happened but, I had a realization within myself ’cause I’m hearing that s**t and I’m like ‘Man this s**t, Soulja Boy tell em,’” he said. “Sounds crazy to say now ’cause it’s such a classic to me. But at that time I had resistance. Similar to when you came out and your class came out, I had resistance. ‘Nah that’s not the thing that I love. Like what? Y’all f*****g with this?’ I was one of them. But there was a part of me that had a realization. I was proud of myself for this realization. So I was like ‘Bruh, you a hater. Like, yo you are literally hating. You know you like this s**t.'”

Now, Big Draco is responding by apparently taking Cole’s comments as a slight and calling him a “hater,” even though the latter admitted he didn’t feel the music at first but is now a big fan of it.

“N****z always hated on me nothing new. Him and big sean was on some hating s**t,” he tweeted. “But f**k them im still lit 🔥.” In a follow-up tweet, Soulja tagged Cole himself. “Aye bruh don’t speak on me @JColeNC I’m not lil pump, drake, or none of these rapper n****z. On God.”

So it looks like “Draaake!?” has turned into “Cooole!?” SMH.
