Oh Lord, Did Meek Mill Diss Drake...Again?
Just when it looked like Meek Mill was ready to pull the cord on his tired rap beef with Drake, it turns out the rapper had just a couple more things to get off of his chest. After the clean version of Meek’s “1942 Flows” from his recent album, Wins & Losses, surfaced, fans noticed an extra set of bars that seemed to take shots at Drizzy.
Meek’s line may be a reference to Drake’s “Lose You,” a track from his 2017 playlist More Life. On the record, the Toronto native raps, “All you did was write the book on garbage-ass Rollies.” Picking that line apart, Meek hit back, targeting Drakes “stolen” flows. “Heard they say I talk about my Rollies too much / But them flows you be using sounding stolen too much… You be doing too much, you only looking for attention / Swagger jacking, winning / But this is the beginning, double M the emblem.”
While this is a subtle jab, it definitely hits a number of the points that Drake has bee criticized for in the past. The “Fake Love” artist has often been accused of stealing other artists' flows and seeking attention in the media.
Drake wasn't the only person the Philly rapper came for on the track, though. He also left some room for his ex-girlfriend and Drizzy’s Young Money teammate Nicki Minaj. The single referenced Nicki’s verses on popular tracks “Monster” and “No Frauds.” “I seen my dawgs turned their backs it was slow / I seen that b***h turn her back like a fraud / You turn your back you can’t come back no more / Shown the real monster just cuttin’ them off / Just when they thought they was laughing at me / I was just sittin’ back laughin’ at ya’ll,” he raps.
Obviously, no one’s safe on Meek’s new project. Wins & Losses is currently available on all streaming platforms. The album features special appearances by Quavo, Young Thug, Rick Ross, Chris Brown, Lil Uzi Vert and more.
