Cardi B Shuts Down An Absurd Rumor About The Real Reason Offset Proposed To Her

Don’t even try it.

Cardi B and Offset sent the entire Bardi Gang and Culture fans swooning when the Migos member got down on one knee and asked her hand for his wife to be.

A questionable interview, however, has some of those fans enraged after suggesting that Offset’s reason for the proposal is connected to blatant misogynoir. And the “Bodak Yellow” femcee is not pleased about the fake news one bit.

According to Bossip, a YouTube video landed on the internet recently featuring highlights from an interview with the “Bad and Boujee” rapper and a journalist named Booby Jones. The interview was also titled “Color of Love,” the site reports, and included alleged remarks from Offset about Cardi’s Dominican heritage.

“[I proposed] because Cardi is real, she’s a good woman, and she’s not African-American,” the quote reportedly revealed.

Bossip adds that when Jones reportedly reminded him that she’s still considered a woman of color, Offset reasoned that “her color ain’t Black,” and, thus, deems her just right for wifey type. Cardi wasn’t letting the fraudulence fly, however, and swiftly responded to the chatter via Twitter.

“Motherf**kers make the most ridiculous fake stories just for YouTube views -___-,” she wrote. “Like wtfff.”

Further confirming the invalidity of her fiancée’s remarks, she replied to a fan’s concern about the interview as well with “IT’S FAKE.”

Looks like that one resolved itself.
