Police have opened an investigation after a teenage girl told officials a couple in Montgomery County, Maryland, forced her to have sex with 288 people in a hotel. 

Both Atuan Saran Rogers, 34, and Dierra Victoria Lee Thomas, 19, have been charged with prostitution offenses. The unnamed teenage girl who reported the couple worked out of a Silver Spring hotel and officials believe Rogers and Thomas ran a prostitution ring involving other minors.

The teenage girl, who has been recorded as being either 14 or 15, said that she met the couple while she was at the hotel with some friends. Eventually, she began working as a prostitute for the couple for a little over two months. The teen claimed that, after following up with the couple after their initial interaction, they encouraged her to leave home and work for them.

In the police report, the teen claimed that she worked three or four days a week and would have sex with eight to 10 people a day. While she worked for the couple, Rogers was given access to the teen’s phone. Court records stated that she had no access to money and was hit in the face when she said she did not “want to have sex anymore.”

Rogers worked as a pimp for 15 years and operated a website that advertised prostitution, said the teen. The site used fake photos and charged $100-$200 for sexual acts. Detectives found Rogers’s website and learned that he rented rooms at a Silver Spring hotel.

Authorities are searching for other victims that may have been trafficked by the couple. Based on the rooms rented by Rogers as well as the advertisements, officials believe there are other young women involved.

Rogers was charged with human trafficking. He is being held in the Montgomery County Detention Center on $80,000 bond. Thomas was also charged with one count of conspiracy to commit human trafficking in addition to prostitution and was released on $5,000 bond.
