Lupe Fiasco Wants to Retire After Being Accused of Hate Speech
Lupe Fiasco recently released a freestyle over J. Cole's "Everybody Dies," but it didn't quite go over so well with his fans.
The freestyle featured a controversial line, with many calling the Chicago rapper out for hate speech.
The line in question reads, "Artists gettin' robbed for their publishing / By dirty Jewish execs that think he alms from the covenant." Run it back and yup, that's really what the emcee spits.
Following DJ Booth publishing an article detailing exactly why the line reads as anti-Semitic, the rapper responded saying, "Oh please. F**k out of here."
However, following that interaction, the rapper chose to make his Twitter account private after announcing his retirement from music.
"I get the hint God," the rapper writes. "Yo Lupe fans it's been fun and I hope you've had fun. I'm officially not releasing anymore music. Albums canceled."
Considering he's previously announced that he has three different albums in the works, hopefully Lupe will listen to his critics and apologize for the lyric instead of simply calling it quits.
Take a look at Lupe's announcement in the tweet below.
