This breakup between Gilbert Arenas and his ex is beyond messy.

TMZ Sports is reporting that the ex-NBA All-Star has a libel lawsuit against Laura Govan, claiming she devised a false story about him giving her an STD to humiliate him and prevent other women from being with him. He is demanding unspecified damages.

In documents obtained by TMZ, Arenas alleges Govan grew bitter when he broke up with her, so she resorted to penning an email crammed with damning allegations and then leaked it to gossip websites around the Internet.

Arenas alleges Govan wrote: "When I left you it was because I couldn't take the STDs."

Arenas adds that "Govan knew it to be false when it was made."
