Country Star Jimmie Allen and wife Alexis Announce Separation Amid Third Pregnancy

The couple has two children together and have been together since 2019.

Grammy Award-nominated country music star and television personality, Jimmie Allen announced that he and his wife Alexis Gale are separating--while they are expecting their third child.

In an Instagram post, Allen wrote, "After much thought and reflection in recent months, Lex & I have made the decision to separate," Allen wrote. "As we navigate this life change, we can also share that we will be welcoming another child together later this year."

"Our number one priority is and always will be ensuring that our children are healthy, happy and loved, and we remain committed to co-parenting with love and respect for one another," he continued. "In light of our growing family, we respectfully request privacy during this time."

Alexis shared the same message on IG.

The couple officially wed on May 27, 2021, at The Lake House Inn in Perkasie, Penn., but later revealed to PEOPLE that they held a secret, private ceremony one year prior on Allen's birthday in June 2020.

Jimmie, 37, and Alexis, 27, have a 3-year-old daughter named Naomi and an 18-month-old daughter named Zara. He also has an 8-year-old son, Aadyn, from a previous relationship.

Last year, he told Entertainment Tonight that he and Alexis were done expanding their family. "Going from two to three is a big jump. It's cool, we love 'em and we're just definitely thankful for our kids," Jimmie told ET's Cassie DiLaura. "For sure, we feel outnumbered, yeah. [And] we are."

"We threw around the idea of maybe having another one in like four years, we thought about it, we tossed around the idea. And then we closed the idea," he added.

Allen is the host of a new competition show My Kind of Country streaming now on Apple TV+.

The show finds Allen, Mickey Guyton and Orville Peck scouring the globe for the next country music star. They each pick rosters of artists to compete in Nashville, Tennessee, with the winner receiving support and exposure on Apple Music.

Allen's big hit single, "Freedom Was a Highway" with Brad Paisley, went to number one in February 2022.
