Happy 50th Birthday, Eazy-E
Today is a very special day for hip hop as it would have been Eric "Eazy-E" Wright's 50th birthday. To celebrate his life and legacy, especially with the upcoming NWA biopic in production, BET.com sat down with his family and got to know more about him as a son and a father from those closest to him.
"One of the things that I want the world to know about my son is that he was a great father and a great man, and everybody that I know loved him," Eazy-E's mother, Katie Wright said.
She went on to explain that before NWA and their success, Eazy-E started a hip hop crew named the High Power DJ crew. Mrs. Wright continues by saying that even though he was excited to bring his first plaque recognizing his accomplishments in music home, she was really proud because the project had been dedicated to her and her late husband.
Ironically enough, even though Eazy-E was a trailblazer, the moments that made his mother proud were unrelated to the business and centered around his spirit and huge heart.
"When [was] I was super proud of him? When he was born. And the second time, when he grew up, he bought me my first car."
