Cardi B Announces New Single ‘Hot S**t’ Releasing Friday
The 2022 BET Awards were not the only exciting aspect of Sunday (June 26).
Cardi B took to her social media accounts to announce her new single “Hot S**t” is dropping Friday (July 1). The news came during the BET Awards.
The bass-induced track is produced by Tay Keith. The two have connected for a few other songs in the past: DJ Khaled’s “Wish Wish,” also featuring 21 Savage, and Lil Yachty’s “Who Want The Smoke” which featured Cardi’s husband, Offset.
In the preview video for the song, Cardi is seen standing atop a building, overlooking a city.
Cardi’s last album, Invasion of Privacy dropped in 2018. At the tail end of 2021, she announced that a new album would be coming in 2022.
She does indeed hear the talks about her last album and compares it to her upcoming body of work, in which she says there’s an emphasis on “making sure everybody likes it.”
“There’s definitely a lot of pressure, that’s why I haven’t put out an album,” she said to Footwear News in an interview. “I haven’t rushed it because everybody is waiting on that one little mistake.”
Music aside, the 29-year-old embraces other endeavors, including her Reebok collection and her Facebook series, Cardi Tries.
