Diddy "Swatted" by Celebrity Hackers

Bad Boy mogul is the latest A-list victim of Hollywood pranksters.

Happy belated April Fool’s Day, Diddy.

Sean Combs is the latest celebrity to be targeted by the wave of “swatting” pranks that are sweeping Hollywood. More than a dozen police cars and two helicopters raced to the Bad Boy mogul’s L.A. home yesterday after a 911 caller claimed that someone was shot inside the residence. After securing both Diddy’s house and his neighbor’s, actor Steve Carell, the cops determined that the call was a prank and dispersed.

Diddy isn’t the only celebrity to be victimized by the prank: Chris Brown, Justin Bieber and Kim Kardashian have all had a battalion of armed-to-the-teeth police show up at their door unexpectedly in recent months.

According to TMZ, a group of hackers who uncovered the financial secrets of dozens of stars updated their website and took credit for the recent series of celebrity swatting pranks, including the one that just hit Diddy as well as another that targeted Paris Hilton’s home. The FBI had already been on the hackers’ tail — and now the L.A. police, who had been investigating the swatting spree, are on their case as well.

Sources close to the investigation tell TMZ that the hackers are also privately claiming they were behind every swatting prank that took place since authorities found the original alleged swatter, a 12-year-old California boy. In addition to the Diddy and Paris pranks they’re claiming publicly, the hackers are reportedly boasting about swatting Kim Kardashian, Tom Cruise, Chris Brown and even the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

No arrests have been made yet.
