Federal prosecutors have accused the rapper, whose real name is Herbert Wright III, his manager/promoter Antonio “T-GLo” Strong, rapper Joseph “Jo Rodeo” Williams, and others of using stolen credit card information to make huge purchases.
Through possible use of the “dark web,” stolen IDs and cards were obtained, and purchases were made that include limo services, private jets, a vacation in Jamaica, designer dogs, and more. In total, the fraud amounts to about $1.5 million.
Chicago Tribune reports that the latest instance of the alleged fraud happened in September when one of the case’s defendants used fake information to acquire a hotel room in Chicago.
Strong, who’s also been charged for wire fraud in the case, is suspected to be the scheme's ringleader and was arrested back in September.
