Young Dolph Speaks Out After Near-Fatal Shooting In Los Angeles
Nearly a week after being shot multiple times in Los Angeles, Young Dolph appears to be on his way to a speedy recovery.
Early Sunday morning (Oct. 1), the Memphis emcee took to Twitter to assure his fans that he was in good spirits. “Its DOLPH!” he wrote along with a bunch of dolphin emojis. While the tweet didn't shed light on the status of his health, the brief message immediately went viral, sparking an overwhelming reaction from social media users.
As previously reported, the "Preach" rapper was shot outside The Shoe Palace at the intersection of Hollywood and Highland in Los Angeles following a scuffle with a group of men. According to LAPD Officer Meghan Aguila, who spoke to KTLA, “They had an argument, which escalated to a physical fight. At one point, Young Dolph was knocked to the ground. And then one of the suspects pulled out a handgun and began shooting at him.”
Initially, Yo Gotti was reported as a person of interest in the shooting. That report was later shot down by the LAPD. But authorities did arrest Cory McClendon, an associate of Gotti, on suspicion of attempted murder. McClendon has since been released without charges being brought against him as the LAPD continues to investigate the crime.
