The album features collaborations with a diverse range of artists including Herbie Hancock, Yebba, Terrace Martin, and more, adding to the rich musical landscape of the album. With its incorporation of various musical genres and Glasper's innovative approach to jazz, Black Radio III continues the legacy of the Black Radio series and solidifies Glasper's place as a major player in contemporary jazz.
The album received critical acclaim and was praised for its blend of jazz, hip-hop, R&B, and soul music, as well as its socially conscious lyrics. Black Radio III is a testament to Glasper's artistic vision and his commitment to pushing the boundaries of jazz in new and exciting directions.
When asked about what he wants his music legacy to be, after his Grammy win, Glasper spoke to BET.com about not letting himself be boxed in.
"My musical legacy is to be someone who had the keys to the house of Black music and wandered from room to room. We have given the world so much music, so many genres of music, and most people stick to one, you know what I mean? And I've been blessed with the talent and understanding to kind of wander around," Glasper said.
He continued, "I just want to be remembered as a person who was not in the box, you know?"
