Lizzo Debuts New Song In Super Bowl Commercial With Google Pixel 6
Lizzo debuted a new song about self-love which further promoted her Black-is-beautiful memo for a new Google Pixel commercial during the Super Bowl on Sunday (Feb. 13).
Her latest hit, “If You Love Me,” was effortlessly played in the background of the Pixel 6 phone commercial that specifically called attention to the phone’s Real Tone feature which promises to accurately capture the melanin of people with darker skin tones, Elite Daily reports.
“If you love me / You love all of me / Or none of me at all,” sings the Grammy Award-winning artist.
In the 60-second commercial, which aired during the third quarter, a photo of the songbird appears among a series of Black and Brown women, men and children who glide across the screen.
The 33-year-old also shared the inclusive video clip on her Instagram to celebrate.
“Black is beautiful. And now thanks to my partners at @googlepixel, camera technology can celebrate and show all of the skin tones that make every single one of us beautiful,” she captioned her post. “If you love me, you love all of me. My body. My skin. My story.”
In case you missed it, Super Bowl LVI was seasoned with plenty of Black excellence from the timeless hip hop halftime show with Dr. Dre, Mary J. Blige, Kendrick Lamar, Snoop Dogg, 50 Cent to the opening singing acts of “America The Beautiful” sung by Jhene Aiko and The National Anthem sung by Mickey Guyton.
The Los Angeles Rams and the Cincinnati Bengals went head to head at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, with the Rams coming out on top with the win as 23-20 as the 2022 Super Bowl Champs.
