Kendrick Lamar Playfully Swarmed by Kids During TDE's Christmas Concert

Thousands gather at Nickerson Garden for the annual charity event.

The spirit of giving was alive and well as Top Dawg Entertainment (TDE) held its 11th annual Christmas Concert and Toy Drive at Nickerson Gardens in Watts, California.

Thursday (Dec 12) marked day one of the annual event, drawing thousands of fans to witness a star-studded lineup featuring Kendrick Lamar, Doechii, SZA, ScHoolboy Q, Ab-Soul, and more.

One of the many heartwarming highlights of the night was Lamar’s performance, where he was joined on stage by a small army of kids to the tune of his chart-topping single, “Squabble Up,” from his latest album, “GNX.”

In a touching clip captured by a concertgoer, the Grammy Award-winning emcee turned to several young children standing on the side and said, “C’mon my youngins,” inviting them to join him on stage.

The free event, organized by TDE’s founder, Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith, required attendees to bring an unwrapped toy as an entry. Gifts collected during the event will be distributed to children at Nickerson Gardens the following day. The charity event featured performances from 20 artists, including fan-favorite TDE affiliates.

TDE’s holiday tradition continues on Friday with family-friendly activities, such as arts and crafts stations, face painting, and interactive games, along with a job fair aimed at connecting community members with local employment opportunities.

For Kendrick, it’s just another way to give back ahead of his highly anticipated Super Bowl LIX halftime show performance in New Orleans.
