Surprise! Mathew Knowles Shares How Beyoncé And Tina Lawson Reacted To His Unexpected Backstage Visit
Following the epic conclusion of her and her husband Jay-Z's majorly successful tour venture, On The Run II, Beyoncé shared a series of photos with her estranged father, Mathew Knowles, and mother, Tina Lawson, that proved to show the trio have reached a full circle moment of love.
Most recently, Mathew spoke with TMZ and elaborated a bit more on the moments leading up to the heartwarming snap, sharing that he actually surprised his hugely successful eldest daughter and ex-wife.
In the clip, he shared that his visit was a complete shock to both ladies, but explained that, thankfully, they were pleasantly surprised by his presence.
"The meeting was a warm and positive one," he said. "It was her last show and I wanted to surprise her."
Speaking specifically about the black-and-white photos the "Daddy" singer posted to her Instagram account, he shared that it was all her idea to have them capture the moment in an intimate family picture. Also, he shared that he and Miss Tina have nothing but love for one another despite the conditions under which their marriage ended.
"It was important to her and important to all of us," he said. "Tina and I have never been enemies. I have nothing but positive things to say about her."
So, how did Queen Bey react when she first saw her dad waiting for her in the cut?
"As she came out, I was there and she gave me a hug, the sort of hug that only a daughter can give to their dads," he gushed. "She was surprised I was there."
He did further mention, though, that the megastar told him she was feeling a mixture of happiness and sadness for a pretty specific reason that the BeyHive is sure to appreciate.
"She told me she was happy that the tour had come to an end, but she was also sad that the tour has ended because she will miss her fans," he added.
We miss you already, Bey!
