Congratulations are in order for former “Real Housewives of Potomac” star Candiace Dilliard Bassett and her husband Chris Bassett! The two lovebirds have announced that Candiace is pregnant! This will be Candiace’s first child with Chris, who has three kids from a previous marriage.

Candiace told Entertainment Tonight, “I am about 13 weeks ... so just about into the second trimester. It’s just been, like, kind of quietly just growing a bun." The baby news comes shortly after the news that Candiace wouldn’t return to “RHOP” after season 8. She left the reality franchise after six years on the show, having first joined in season 7. 

“As I embark on a new chapter after six remarkable years with ‘The Real Housewives of Potomac,’ I am filled with gratitude for the enriching friendships, personal growth and moments of introspection that have defined this journey,” Candiace said. ”With a whirlwind of new opportunities and responsibilities on my plate, I have decided to take a break from ‘RHOP.’”

The reality star was careful with her words. She called her departure a “break.” And even said that it’s not a goodbye, but a see you later. This may mean that the “Drive Back” singer could return to the show. One thing is for certain, she’s not leaving the spotlight. The 37-year-old mommy-to-be is going to continue sharing her life with the world. She said, “I look forward to the exciting adventures that lie ahead — and more importantly, sharing them all with you!"

During her time on “RHOP,” Candiace was transparent about her desire to be a mother. She debated her decision, citing other life priorities like her singing career, getting her Executive MBA at the School of Business at Howard University and moving into a new home. But then, she says she got “the itch” to be a mother and Candiace underwent in vitro fertilization (IVF) in January to conceive, using one of the embryos she and Chris froze two years ago. 

Candiace and Chris are over the moon excited to welcome their bundle of joy into their family!
