Kendrick Lamar Unveils 'King Kunta' Video in Times Square
Lately, everything in the career of Kendrick Lamar is an event of epic proportions. His third studio album, To Pimp a Butterfly, dropped on March 16 and has been called an instant classic; K Dot surprised fans last week in Hollywood when he delivered a surprise performance; and now the video for his single "King Kunta" arrived in Times Square via the Beats by Dre billboard.
A cryptic tweet from Kendrick Lamar earlier in the day read: "King Kunta. Video. NYC. Beats Billboard. 46th and Broadway. 6PM." And that's exactly where everyone piled in to watch the main event. The video, directed by X (also known as Little X), shows Kendrick in his element from swap meets to low riders. Even in the midst of fame, Kendrick keeps it authentic.
