Robin Roberts Announces Plans To Marry Her Partner Of Nearly 18 Years: ‘We’re Getting Married This Year’
Robin Roberts is ready to walk down the aisle with her longtime partner Amber Laign! The news anchor, who has been in a relationship with Laign for nearly 18 years, shared the exciting wedding news on Monday (Jan. 2).
“I’m saying ‘yes’ to marriage,” Roberts happily shared on Good Morning America. “We’re getting married this year.”
Roberts explained that they had previously "talked about" tying the knot, but decided to postpone after Laign was diagnosed with breast cancer in late 2021. Laign, who is the co-founder of Plant Juice Oils, completed radiation therapy in July 2022.
"It was something we had talked about but we had put it off, she became ill but … it is saying yes to that, and that next chapter," Roberts shared about their intentions to wed in 2023.
FYI: The couple reportedly began dating in July 2005 after meeting on a blind date.
