Tito Jackson and Nephew Austin Brown Deliver a Stirring Performance on LATV's 'FREEQUENCY'

The Jackson legacy continues as Tito Jackson, co-founder of the iconic Jackson 5, teams up with his singer-songwriter nephew Austin Brown for a captivating rendition of "Home Is Where The Heart Is"

The Jackson family is one of the greatest dynasties in music history and they are not done yet.

Tito Jackson, a co-founder of the legendary Jackson 5, teamed up with his nephew Austin Brown for a special performance of his new song “Home Is Where The Heart Is” on “FREEQUENCY - Freedom of Expression Through Sound,”  a show hosted by Brown on LATV.

The accomplished guitarist, songwriter, and Rock and Roll Hall of Famer took to social media to express his excitement about the collaboration, which originally took place in honor of Black History Month.

“I had a special moment performing my song "Home Is Where The Heart Is" with my nephew @AustinBrown + BLVK CVSTLE on an exclusive #BlackHistoryMonth2024 Freequency,” Jackson wrote. “Catch the complete special on @LATVNetwork.”

During the interview, Jackson spoke about how he and his brothers used to sing with his mother, Katherine Jackson, and how those experiences caused him to fall in love with music.

“We used to sing with my mother as she washed the dishes singing country and western,” Jackson recalled.

Brown, whose parents are Rebbie Jackson and Nathaniel Brown, shared what it is like to interview and take the stage with his uncle.

“It was a bucket list moment for me to sit down and really speak to my uncle Tito about not only his 60 years of work/knowledge in the ever-changing music business but also how he inspired a generation of young musicians,” Brown said. “As a black guitar player, he helped encourage kids to pick up the instrument, make it their own, and embody the essence of a rockstar while remaining humble inside and out."

“I hope everyone who sees this realizes the true unity and love that built the DNA of our family. This musical quilt is going to be something that covers us when we celebrate life's moments and have a good time,” Brown continued.

Launched in 2022, “Freequency brings together special friends and members of musical dynasties for exclusive live performances and insightful conversation." With performances from noted artists, Freequency seeks to portray the “heart and soul that goes into each artistic endeavor crafted by a musician.”

An accomplished musician in his own right, Brown and his producing partner Brian London, earned a Best Progressive R&B Album Grammy nomination for producing "Stolen Fruit" and "Why Try" on Tank and the Bangas' "Red Ballon" project.

In November 2023, Austin received his second Grammy nomination in the category Best Progressive R&B Album for Diddy's "The Love Album: Off The Grid" for their track "Closer To God". He also co-wrote "That's You," Lucky Daye's newest single.

Brown has produced songs for an array of artists including Ariana Grande, Macy Gray, Tank and the Bangas, Snoop Dogg, DJ Tony Touch, Stylez P, and others.
