Continuing along his mission to repair the United States' relationship with Cuba, President Barack Obama made a historic move by approving the first American factory in Cuba in more than five decades.

According to the Associated Press, the factory will house a company from Alabama that specializes in small tractor assembly, and will begin production as early as the first quarter of 2017. This is considered the "first significant U.S. business investment" in the region since Fidel Castro was appointed Prime Minister in 1959.

"I have two countries that for 60 years have been in the worst of terms," said Saul Berenthal, part of the tractor manufacturing team. "Anything I can do to bring to the two countries and the two people together is tremendously satisfying.

Berenthal's business partner, Horace Clemmons, made it clear on what the mission of this project is: "Everybody wants to go to Cuba to sell something and that's not what we're trying to do," he said. "We're looking at the problem and how do we help Cuba solve the problems that they consider are the most important problems for them to solve."

Raul Castro and President Obama announed back in 2014 plans to push through with a repaired relationship between the two nations. This move is the initial step towards breaking down those walls of hostility.
