Nas Premiered A New Song At SXSW, And It's Produced By J Dilla
Nas dropped a song last year called “The Season”, and perhaps more notable than the Queensbridge rapper releasing new music was who actually produced the track.
Legendary Detroit producer J Dilla, who passed away in 2006, is set to release the album he was working on before he died via his estate through Nas’ Mass Appeal imprint, and along with that it seems some of his production is going to be on the label boss’ next effort as well.
During a performance at SXSW this year, Nas decided to debut a song produced by the late great called “The Sickness.” And it had the crowd going wild.
It’s unclear when Nas is slated to drop his next album. He hinted that he would drop a project in 2015, but nothing surfaced. During a recent interview with DJ Khaled, he mentioned that he’s in the studio working, so something may be coming sooner rather than later.
J Dilla’s long lost album The Diary is slated for release later this year. Watch a clip of Nas’ latest unofficial release below.
