Ice Spice Tapped in Spike Lee's Film, 'High Low' Opposite Denzel Washington
Ice Spice is gearing up for her moment on the big screen.
In Hollywood, stars have often intersected their talents across industries, and now, the Bronx native is doing the same. On Wednesday (April 10), news broke that the "Munch" hitmaker has been cast in a new flick by iconic filmmaker Spike Lee, as reported by Variety. This film will mark the award-winning rapper's acting debut.
The Apple Original Films and A24 production, "High Low" will also star living legend, Denzel Washington.
In 2022, Ice Spice emerged in the rap game with her first single, "Munch." Since then, the world has been hers. She has four Billboard Top 10 hits including "Karma," "Boy's A Liar, Pt. 2," "Barbie World," and "Princess Diana," while the latter two are collaborations with Nicki Minaj.
On top of that, she was named "Best Breakthrough Hip Hop Artist" at the 2023 BET Awards and this year she was awarded iHeart Radio's Best New Hip Hop Artist.
Lee will serve as the film's executive producer, who has already begun production.
Lee and Washington have worked together on “Mo’ Better Blues,” “Malcolm X,” “He Got Game,” and “Inside Man.”
