Body Found On Delaware College Campus Identified As Missing Black Woman Kim Ezell
The body of a Philadelphia woman missing since Jan. 5 has been found miles away on a college campus, the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
Kim Ezell, 59, was found dead at the Delaware Technical Community College - Stanton Campus in Newark, Delaware. Police said the body was discovered in a vehicle in a fenced-in area in the back of the college. A cause of death has not been determined but there was a bullet found near her body.
Ezell's children said their mother was last seen on January 5, which is the day her roommate, Stanley Lawton, 78, was murdered in their North Philadelphia home, according to the Inquirer. Walter M. Heard, 30, has been arrested and charged with Lawton’s death. Heard is reportedly the son of the landlord of the property and was harassing Ezell for rent money but there was a conflict over the lease agreement. He was also charged with robbery, burglary, and related offenses. Police say they found three handguns inside Heard’s residence.
Jameelah Ezell, the victim's daughter, said, "She was asking for a lease and he wasn't bringing the lease. And he kept saying, ‘You know, you're gonna bring me money, or I'm gonna make you.’”
No arrests or charges have been made in Ezell’s death so far.
