The National Museum of African-American History and Culture is set to honor Bill Cosby in their new exhibit, and while their initial plan was to showcase positive images of the comic, they've now included elements of his recent controversy to show both "the good and bad."

The New York Times reported earlier this week that the exhibit will honor the former TV dad's achievements throughout his career in the new museum, slated to open in September. When accusers came forward urging they also recognize the recent allegations of sexual assault and drugging, the museum issued a statement, clarifying its mission for the display.

"This is not an exhibition that 'honors or celebrates' Bill Cosby but one that acknowledges his role, among many others, in American entertainment," said the museum director, Lonnie Bunch, in a statement. "Visitors will leave the exhibition knowing more about Mr. Cosby's impact on American entertainment, while recognizing that his legacy has been severely damaged by the recent accusations."

Cosby is current in the middle of a Pennsylvania criminal trial originating from sexual assault and drugging allegations made against him by a former Temple University employee.
