Biden Administration Asks Herschel Walker, Dr. Oz, To Resign From Presidential Board Or Be Fired

The pair of GOP Senate candidates were initially appointed by Donald Trump.

The Biden Administration is asking two high-profile Republican Senate candidates to resign from the President’s Council on Sports, Fitness and Nutrition.

According to USA Today, the White House sent letters to Herschel Walker and Dr. Mehmet Oz informing them they’d be fired if they did not resign from the committee they were appointed to by Donald Trump.

The White House official said they were asked to resign because it is against the administration’s policy to have candidates in federal elections sit on presidential councils.

Oz, a TV show host, is running for Senate in Pennsylvania while Walker, a former college football and NFL star, is a Senatorial candidate in Georgia. Both are competing in Republican primary elections in May.

According to NBC News, Oz and Walker were asked to resign by 6 p.m. Wednesday.
