Tyla Postpones North American Tour Indefinitely Due to Persistent Back Injury
Tyla's fans will need to wait a bit longer to catch the breakthrough artist on the road. The “Water” singer announced that she has canceled her upcoming North American tour due to a longstanding injury that had worsened over time.
The “Tyla Tour” was initially set to begin on March 21 in Oslo, Norway, with eight international stops scheduled. The 22-year-old had intended to later return for North American performances, a moment her fans eagerly anticipated. However, all North American dates have since been canceled, while plans are in place to reschedule her shows in the U.K. and Europe.
Tyla released a statement on Instagram Story writing, It saddens me to let you know I will no longer be able to perform over the next 10 days, effecting the following festivals- Roskilde, Palmesus, Opn’er, Saga and Montreux Jazz.”
The “Art” singer noted, “I am currently doing physical therapy and easing back into doing shows consistently,” before adding, “Trust that I am doing everything I can to get on as many stages while Simultaneously recovering fully.”
She concluded, “Thank you for your patience and understanding. Can’t wait to see you all again soon, stay safe & healthy my Tygers.”
The South African star delivered a sultry performance of her latest single, “Jump,” featuring Gunna and Skillibeng, at the BET Awards 2024 last Sunday (June 30) in Los Angeles, CA. The singer also secured two wins, including “Best New Artist” and “Best International Act,” at the annual ceremony hosted by Taraji P. Henson.
