Police in Los Angeles are conducting a search for a man who was seen to be allegedly kidnapping a woman on Wednesday afternoon, reported the LA Times.

The unidentified man was recorded on what appears to be a surveillance camera on the 15000 block of El Cajon Street in Sylmar. Police are asking the public to help them identify the man and woman in the clip.

In the video, the man and woman appear to have a brief verbal exchange which escalates. Eventually the woman attempts to walk away; however, the heavyset man grabs her by the hair and shoves her into the light blue Chrysler minivan.

The woman is seen trying to escape from the van, but he presses her back inside, closes the door, and jumps into the driver’s seat. The van drives off.

According to police, the suspect and victim know each other, yet the details of their relationship are not clear.

The woman is described as a 25- to 35-year-old Latina with black hair. The man is about 250 pounds and believed to be 30 to 35 years old. In the video, he is wearing a baseball cap.
