Megan Thee Stallion’s Message To This Troll About Her Mother Deserves A Round Of Applause
Megan Thee Stallion has remained deep in her bag all summer 2019.
The Houston rapstress’ chart-topping Hot Girl Summer reign was capped off in record fashion. Last Friday (Sept. 13), Meg revealed that she recently inked a management deal with Jay-Z’s Roc Nation record label, uploading a photo with Hov to commemorate the occasion.
“I would like to announce that I am officially a part of the @rocnation fam,” Meg announced on Instagram last Friday (Sept. 13). The news seemed even more celebratory considering the devastating passing of her mother, Holly Thomas, just before her breakout year as she was gaining mainstream steam. Ms. Thomas passed away after a battle with brain cancer.
Shortly after announcing her deal, Megan took to social media to reflect on her mother’s passing. In a tribute post, she said that some days are harder than others, but as her mother would have wanted, she’s ultimately pushing forward on the path they worked so hard to pave together.
“After my mom passed I promised myself I was going to keep going hard [because] not only is music my dream but it was her dream for me too,” Megan penned in her tribute. “I have days where I want to go hide and cry because she’s not here, but I know that ain’t what she would want me to do! I know she’s proud of me!”
Despite the outpouring of support that washed over the Fever star’s Twitter account, there were those who shamefully tied Ms. Thomas’ passing to other forces. Former NFL player Larry Johnson was one of them, blurting out a claim about a conspiracy behind her mother’s untimely death. In a tweet responding to the news, Johnson questioned whether Megan’s Roc deal was the work of the devil on Twitter late Saturday (Sept. 13).
“A coincidence: her mother, who was her manager died in the month of March 2019, the same month of her ‘break out’,” he said. [The] Music industry [is] filled with the easily [corruptible], fatherless children looking for Satan to be the “daddy” they never had.”

Megan saw Johnson’s comments a few hours later and promptly shut down the dubious claims
“Just because YOU found out about me around the time my mother passed does not make what you’re saying accurate,” she fired back. “I’ve been grinding for so long and would appreciate if you weirdos on the internet would stop trying to associate my mother having A BRAIN TUMOR with the f*cking devil.”
Forcefully, the Hotties ran behind Megan’s defense and pushed back at Johnson for the insensitive, baseless commentary. Continuing their downpour of support for their Hot Girl leader, many also reminded her to leave the trolls to their internet swamp mentalities and protect her own energy amid such a sensitive time.
“Sis, don’t give [people] like that any bit of your energy,” one person wrote in her comments.
“I'm sick to my stomach that someone would even say some sh** like this. Grow tf up,” another tweeted.- advertisement

Thankfully, Meg has the support of her fans and family everywhere, so we can consider Johnson’s thoughts null and void (and irrelevant) — effective immediately.
