[Reality or Rumor] Is Dodgers' Carl Crawford's Relationship with Business Woman Evelyn Lozada Striking Out?
Now, I ain't saying she a gold digger... but some of Carl Crawford's Los Angeles Dodgers' teammates reportedly are.
With Crawford mired in one of the worst hitting slumps of his Major League Baseball career, some of the left fielder's teammates are questioning the motives of his reality TV fiancée, Evelyn Lozada, believing that she should be more supportive right about now.
"Some of his teammates feel she's a gold digger after his money," a source close to the situation told the New York Daily News, adding that she should be "standing by [Crawford's] side and lending support, especially while he's going through a tough time in the league."
And some of Crawford's teammates aren't the only ones raising an eyebrow over Evelyn, who stars in the reality-TV series, Livin' Lozada, on OWN. The Daily News additionally reports that some of the Dodgers' wives and girlfriends have wondered about her lack of regular attendance of games at Dodger Stadium.
"Typically, the wives and girlfriends of the players not only come to the games regularly, but they all sit together and root for the team collectively," a source close to the Dodgers' wives and girlfriends told the Daily News. "The two times Evelyn attended a game — both before they were engaged — she sat behind the dugout instead and had no interaction with the other women."
Perhaps that will change if Lozada, who's reportedly currently in her native New York, attends the Dodgers' weekend road series against the New York Mets, beginning Friday.
In Lozada's defense, she and Crawford have a toddler, Carl Leo Crawford Jr., and with her hubby-to-be busy with the baseball season, she has her baby boy to take care of.
But does any of this allude to possible drama existing between Crawford and Lozada?
Is Crawford striking out behind the scenes with her — the same way he is on the field — and about to become a non-factor up in here?
Evelyn and Crawford got engaged in December 2013, three years after he inked a whopping seven-year, $142 million deal with the Boston Red Sox. Their son was born in March 2014.
