A Private Affair: Assistant Principal Suspected of Killing His Pregnant Mistress

She was a teacher at the same school.

Lyntell Washington was a 40-year-old, pregnant teacher who went missing last week in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She was reported missing after her 3-year-old daughter was found unattended near a bloody car. Now, a body has been found, and dental records indicate that it’s the body of Washington.

According to an autopsy report, she died from a gunshot wound to the head, which ultimately killed her and her unborn child.

Now the story gets intense when it was revealed that the leading suspect in the case is none other than the assistant principal of the school where Washington taught. Robert Jovantie Marks is a 39-year-old assistant principal at Brookstone Middle Magnet Academy.

Marks and Washington were allegedly involved in an extramarital affair. Marks is married to another woman; however, he supposedly is the father of Washington’s unborn child. It was proposed that Marks was afraid his wife would find out that he had gotten another woman pregnant.

Washington’s daughter was a witness to the event and told officers that she was with her mother and ‘Mr. Robbie’ when she “heard a 'bang' and after the bang her mom was 'shaking.'”

Now, Marks has gotten a lawyer and appears to be uncooperative in the investigation process, which could be a sign of guilt. Marks is facing charges of aggravated kidnapping and child desertion charges because Washington’s child was left abandoned in a parking lot.
