Georgia Principal's 'All the Black People' Remark Goes Viral
These days more and more insensitive remarks caught on video are making their way online and being checked by users on the social media.
This time around a video of Nancy Gordeuk, principal of TNT Academy in Georgia, calling out Black people in attendance at the high school's graduation for choosing to leave before the ceremony had finished, has rubbed many the wrong way. Gordeuk ended the ceremony by mistake before the valedictorian was able to make his speech, so she returned to the mic to make a plea for audience members to stay.
“You people are so rude to not listen to this speech,” Gordeuk said. “It was my fault that we missed it in the program. Look who’s leaving, all the Black people.” The crowd could be heard gasping and it appeared that the comment only caused more to exit.
Gordeuk has since apologized, saying in an e-mail to parents, "The devil was in the house and came out from my mouth." Meanwhile her son, Travis, only made matters more intense after using the n-word while defending his mother in a Facebook status.
The statuses have been deleted, but the Daily News acquired screen shots of the messages before they were removed. “Yall n*****s aren’t talkin about sh*t so if u got somthing [sic] to say come see me face to face.”
