The 300 Men March is an organization uplifting the forgotten parts of Baltimore, long before the cameras rolled in and the country turned its attention to the Charm City following the killing of Freddie Gray by police officers.
The organization was founded in 2013 and has been part of many from around the way who have volunteered to help calm the neighborhoods affected by riots that left some buildings and cars damaged. Members have spoken to students in area public schools this past week to give context to the current events, according to the Baltimore Sun.
Councilman Brandon Scott is a co-founder of the group and will featured on Baltimore Speaks: A BET Special, to air on Thursday, May 7 at 8P/7C. 
“[The] 300 man march is against all violence. We don’t care how someone dies,” Scott recently told CBS Baltimore. “We are against all violence — all violence, police, citizen on citizen, domestic, it doesn’t matter. We want violence in our city to stop and what we are going to continue to do is be a show of force and being a show of citizens and being responsible.”

The 300 Men March plans to grow their grassroots efforts at a recruitment drive Thursday evening, May 7 at 904 Washington Blvd. Both men and women of all races are welcome to become part of their mission. 
The group was founded to create a support network for the youth of Baltimore after the city saw one of its most violent summers. Other organizations in Baltimore include One More, One Less Mentoring and Mentoring Male Change in the Hood.
